Volver Whaaaaaa! Loads has happened. Foreign travel, gigs, and, well, that's it really. I'm back at home in the luurvely Croydon for Easter now for a few weeks. Things to do, people to see... and work to get done. Hmph.

Santander was super-amazing, decadent perhaps. I'm a lazy sod and I'm not re-cropping photos to put on here, so check them out on the Facebook. It was genuinely wonderful to spend a week nipping from sun, sand and surf to snow, scree and scenery in the mountains with some awfully nice people. There's plenty of tales, but best heard over a pint I feel. This is a mini-update, and I need to sleep.

Saw Patrick Wolf again the other day, which was another super thing that happened. He really is a musician, and the feeling he puts over each time I've seen him is simply astounding. He also manages to make each of his performances unique to the mood he is feeling at the time— this time, he seemed particularly invigorated, and later on, quite excited. The material for his new album is in a new direction, and I'm looking forward to hearing the recorded results. I heard for the second time "Stars", one of his new songs, and it's beautiful. Go Patrick!

Wow. I'm actually quite speechless. I'm writing this on my return from an evening out in Croydon, and, for starters, I've not been stabbed or otherwise violated, but I genuinely enjoyed Croydon instead of merely tolerating it. Deciding to do things differently, Michael and I began in La Galicia, the very popular and very good Spanish restaurant and bar. We propped the bar, me with a carajillo, and he with a whiskey and dry ginger, and between us a plate of patatas bravas. The atmosphere was excellent, the service super and I think a return here for the full experience is a must. (From what others have told me about it beforehand, I should have been ages before now!)

Later on in the evening, we moved onto the Beer Circus, which apparently serves the largest selection of foreign beers in London. And a selection it is too. Reasonably priced and with relaxed ambience, this is not a pretentious bar by any means, and again, a place I'm sure to return to.
