Bring me the red pencil Monday evening hailed an impromptu band-seeing in the form of Bir-minggg-ham's Editors playing on top of a gallery in Camden's Stables market, sponsored by the peopley people of T-Mobile. I'd not heard much of them before, a track here and there, the singles; generally oblivious to their existence. However, since the gig, I am contemplating buying their album, or, at least, *ahem* aquiring it for review purposes.

The lead guy's voice is somewhat Paul Banks (Interpol) sounding, a haunting Ian Curtis-esque voice, but minus so much emotion. The melodies, do, however, seem to be more melodic and less raw. Good stuff at this early stage, but I think further listens will either confirm fan status or bore me- it could go either way. One track that particularly caught my attention I can only describe as "locomotive": the drumming held a rapid, repetitive sound, and along with the crooning, kept me rapt for the duration. Must find out what it was!

If you check out T-mobile's Street Gigs site, when they get round to updating it, I should be on display in noodley glory. That means shovelling my face with some tofu teriyaki noodles (my, they were good, and did fill a spot- and only a paaaaahnd!) while one of the T-mobile sponsor people shoved a mobile camera in my face.

The Alpine Camping Trip (les vacances de camping dans les Alpes) commences this Friday, so no more from me for a week or so. A bientôt, mes amis!

Listening to: albums! Leaders Of The Free World from Elbow and BRMC's Howl. Reports will follow.
