Brainwash
(Listening to: Noir Désir - Le Vent Nous Portera)
A second post in one day! I am busy. This one's just to show off one of the pictures I received back today from when I had my brain scanned as a participant of the Imaging the Deaf Brain study. This was back in June as an attempt to earn some extra dosh, and also take part in an interesting study.
What the study aims to do is to compare the brains of hearing and deaf people to establish exactly how sign language is interpreted. When I went along for brain scanning, the stuck me in an MRI scanner and had me perform tasks, like identifying the BSL sign for "yes" and attempting to understand someone lipread. All good fun, and very interesting indeed. In fact, I quite enjoyed being inside the scanner, which basically gives you about an inch of space in front of your face, and not much more around the rest of your body. Incredibly relaxing and calming, and not at all claustrophobic, as I thought it might feel.
Brace yourselves now, for hear we go through my scalp and cranium and delve deep inside my brain (thankfully, just the physical matter and not my mind)...
What? There's a brain in there?Comments Be the first to comment: use the form below to post now!
