Esta semana Well well well. Being my birthday this weekend, and as it is involving 48 hours of no sleep, I thought it best to post before and after the onslaught of festivities. Evidently, this is the before post, as it's still semi-intelligible.

Been keeping myself busy with a week of Spanish lessons, so I can hablo un poquito de español now, which is rather nice. The teacher I have for the classes, Maria, is fantastic. Makes us laugh with all her tales and titbits of colloquial information. One such gem of knowledge was about when Spain joined the EU, who wanted Spain to drop the ñ letter from its alphabet. It refused such action, on the grounds it would destroy the language. Quite right too, the difference between nnn and nya is the difference between talking about your años and your anos.

Tracks of the week:
- Tom Vek - I Ain't Saying My Goodbyes
- Cut Copy - Bright Neon Payphone
- Elle Milano - Swearing's For Art Students
- The Magic Numbers - This Love
- The Arcade Fire - Headlights Look Like Diamonds
- Joy Division - Ceremony
- Of Montreal - Pancakes For One

Footnote to the ghastly idiots who keep trying to blow things up: don't. It's pathetic. You're not achieving anything other than pissing off us ordinary folk of every walk of life. Who are you targetting? Why not protest in a more thoughtful, productive and useful manner?

Update: The Spanish lessons culminated today in a group rendition of La Bamba. I swore I'd never sing in public again after scoring everyone's eardrums with Jingle Bells on Smallpeice, but Maria *made* me do it. ¡Miércoles Mamá!
