Mood: content. Sobriety: not so. A little update on the week. It's been a busy one, I'll tell thee, involving babies, poo, scary demands, politicians, brain scans, old friends and loud music.

I'll start at the beginning with Monday, when I looked after my (adorable) niece for ten solid hours. The 'rents are away in New Orleans, so I stood as a replacement for my mum babysitting. Ellie pooed four times, which I'm told is quite an unusual amount. Considering the first time I changed a nappy was a few days before, this put me to the extreme test. She is lovely though, and one next week! Ancient!

Tuesday saw me receive a reply from the IEE about my scholarship application- they want me to submit some stuff to show I'm clever, and that's just to assess me before even shortlisting for interviews. *Worried*

Wednesday involved a chance encounter with Tory party leader candidate Alan Duncan. Or rather, Nick spotted him outside the Houses of Parliament, so we did a little reccy mission past him before turning back and accosting him in the street. Delicious rum truffles also consumed to round off a rather nice day.

Thursday was the day I signed up to be scanned for the benefit of science. I will describe more when I post pretty pictures of the inside of my head at some point.

The end of the week also had me seeing most of my good friends from home who I haven't seen for literally months, which was, I must say, very jolly indeed. I did actually miss them quite a lot while I was away doing my things, and they were at home doing there things, or off at uni doing even more things there.

Loud music provided the backdrop to the catching-up at the Black Sheep Bar, in lovely Croydon. I haven't been since around last Christmas, and not on a Friday night for absolutely yonks. Had an ace time- the music was good, the atmosphere is fun and it's so not like Croydon! Will be making an effort to go more often I think. Plus there seemed to be quite a few deviants lurking amongst the crowd, which I've not noticed before, and especially not a Croydon feature at all! Quelle surprise, as they say in a few places.

Anyway, to sum up, this week's made me actually quite happy for once, which is a rare thing indeed. Here's to the summer!

Jeeeese. I'm tired. It's half-fucking-three ante-meridian for crying out loud- why am I writing this now? I think I just posted a load of nonsense. Blurgh. Night night.
